8 pregnancy self-care products for mum from Elemis to Weleda

If ever there’s a perfect time to indulge in a bit of pampering, it’s during your pregnancy. I decided to put self-care first when I was pregnant and dedicated a lot of my evenings to having relaxing baths and doing skin care.

I loved being able to take time for myself and these products were a huge part of my routine. My skin also changed considerably during pregnancy mainly for the better, I had little to no breakouts, and I enjoyed making the most of the famous glow.

The products below have become some of my absolute favourites that I will now continue to use as I go through the post-partum period.

Weleda Stretch Mark Oil

I discovered Weleda during my pregnancy, and I now love the brand. This stretch mark oil smells like a spa and glides on the skin easily as part of a daily massage.

The oil can be used during pregnancy as your bump grows and after to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. This contains arnica flower extract to help ease tightness as well as vitamins A, D and E.

Weleda Skin Food

I received this as part of an Emma’s Diary free pregnancy pack, and I am hooked. I use this during the day and in the evening after cleansing.

This helped to alleviate dryness I had on areas of my face during the pregnancy, and it left my skin feeling super soft. A little goes a long way thanks to the thick consistency and this smells a treat.

My Little Coco Bump Mask

A great addition to a pregnancy pamper sesh, this bump mask from My Little Coco has aloe vera to hydrate the skin and rosehip oil to help reduce any stretch marks. Simply leave on your bump for 15-20 minutes and relax.

Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream

I am a huge fan of Elemis, and the pro collagen range was a big part of my skincare routine during my pregnancy.

This night cream is designed to restore the natural balance to stressed skin. The cream feels light but moisturising and sinks into the skin almost immediately.

Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm

Elemis’ cleansing balm is hands down my favourite product from the brand. The smell of the product alone resembles a relaxing spa, and it melts into the skin.

I use this with a warm muslin cloth, and I like the fact that it doesn’t strip my skin like other cleansers have.

Soap and Glory Bright and Beautiful Brightening Sheet Mask

It’s always a serious pamper evening when you whip out a sheet mask and this one from Soap and Glory helps to brighten the skin and leave it refreshed.

This biodegradable mask gives the skin a boost by reviving the complexion with ingredients including Vitamin C, Cherry Blossom and Lotus Flower.

Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore Hair Treatment

A hair mask is a vital part of my self-care routine and Shea Moisture’s offering features my holy grail ingredient, Jamaican Black Castor Oil which works to strengthen locks. This has been created with anyone who uses dye or heat on their hair in mind as well as for curly, natural hair styles.

My afro hair texture requires a lot of moisture, and this helps to care for my curls leaving them defined and bouncy. I also swear by this product because I straighten my hair and don’t want to compromise my natural curl pattern by damaging it.

I place a cap on my hair and leave this on for 30 minutes before washing it out and styling as desired.

The Body Shop Shea Butter

A cult classic, this body butter is creamy in texture and soaks into the skin leaving it moisturised.

I loved using this after relaxing baths and showers when I was pregnant as it felt like a real treat.

This contains community fair trade shea butter and babassu oil to leave the skin feeling soft and nourished.
